Magazine Training

Betty was magazine trained within the first 9 minutes of the first training session. We knew she was magazine trained when she was getting her reinforcement from the magazine within three seconds of being reinforced. Betty began to change her behavior in order to be reinforced. Instead of sitting in the top left-hand corner of the box, which she enjoyed, she would inch closer to the lever because she knew she was getting reinforced. This was similar to what we talked about in class. She began to realize what the secondary reinforcer was and was waiting at the magazine for the primary reinforcer.
